Pocahontas City Hall is located at 23 West Elm Avenue (Highway 3).  City Hall houses the offices for the City Administrator, City Clerk, Utility Clerk, and Police Department as well as the City Council Chambers.   Additional information about the City of Pocahontas can be found here.  The second image shows how the building looked in the 1950s(?) when it was the headquarters for the Pocahontas County Rural Electric Cooperative.

The Pocahontas County Courthouse is located at the north end of Main Street in the middle of the courthouse square.  The Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

View from Highway 3 looking north down Main Street.  The second image shows a similar photo taken  before Christmas in 1940.  Notice the Christmas decorations and the cars parked in the middle of the street.

Elbert Park features shelter houses, campground, playground equipment, baseball/softball diamonds, sand volleyball, soccer fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, and the swimming pool.

The Pocahontas Swimming Pool was completely renovated in 1995.  The original pool was completed in 1938 as a WPA project.  The new pool includes a diving well with 1 meter and 3 meter diving boards, zero-depth entry, and a 144 foot long water slide.  The original stone bathhouse was completely renovated as part of the project.

The Pocahontas Municipal Airport features a 4100 ft concrete runway.

The Rialto Theater originally opened in 1939 and closed in 1985.  In 1992 the community came together, raising over $250,000 and donating over 6,000 hours of volunteer labor to renovate the theater.  The Rialto re-opened in 1995 and shows current movies as well as being used by Pocahontas Community Chorus, Princess City Players, and for Pocahontas Area Community School activities.

The Pocahontas Community Hospital/Medical Clinic is located on Highway 4 in Pocahontas.   In 1995 an addition was completed that connected the Medical Clinic to the Hospital.

Resurrection of our Lord Catholic Church on Highway 3 is another prominent Pocahontas landmark.
